Silicon Valley Patent Training Clinic (SVPTC) provides hands-on, practical, real-world skills and experience to entrepreneurs, engineers, law school students and emerging patent practitioners. Our faculty and staff are devoted to helping you on your path to becoming a patent attorney or agent. The facilitative nature of the curriculum allows each student to develop their skills, emulates real-world environment, and allows you to grow and obtain the skills necessary to interact with clients. This provides a great learning atmosphere where you learn by experience.
Goals/Objectives - The objective is for students to develop the practical skills, theoretical knowledge and professional attitudes for success in the profession. The balance of the course time is devoted to practical operations, in which students develop and practice skills under the supervision of registered patent attorneys in actual working conditions. SVPTC is well equipped and offers both theory and practical patent drafting instructions
Program Description - Students will learn the various steps of patent application preparation, including disclosure preparation, claims/specification drafting, and filing one or more patent applications.
Student Requirements - Students must have a science or engineering background, excellent research and writing skills, good verbal skills, and be willing to participate, learn, and dedicated to completing one or more patent applications.
